Distribution/Habitat: Lionfish originate from the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Invasive species throughout the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Gulf of Mexico.
Average Size: 12-15 inches long
Average Life Span: 15 years
Diet: Lionfish feed on more than 70 marine fish and invertebrates species, including larval and juvenile fish.

Lionfish have up to 18 venomous spines on the backside of the body that are used for self-defense.
