Lincoln Memorial Pathway Repair

The National Park Service is improving exterior accessibility at the Lincoln Memorial. Pathways that take visitors to the base of the memorial, as well as the exhibits, restrooms and elevator, have settled over time and now exceed a slope of five percent as required by the Achitectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standards.

As part of the project, the National Park Service will left and reset the pathways at the proper slope. They will be repaired one side at a time so visitor can easily and safely reach all points of the memorial. At the same time, we will replace damaged planting material next to the ramps with similar shrubbery.
