Fort Pickens Ordnance Shop

Quick Facts

Period Built: World War II, about 1942
Location: Approximately 300 yards west of historic Fort Pickens.
Notable Features: One ordnance shop and two ordnance warehouses once stood on top of a large concrete foundation near Fort Pickens. A small ordnance boiler house still stands beside the foundation. A railroad ran through the shop to the warehouses. The US Ordnance Department used these buildings to repair, store, and maintain weapons around the Fort Pickens Military Reservation.
