This project completely rebuilt the public boat launch at the Davis Bayou Area of the national seashore. Work included the replacement of two 20’ wide by 50’ long boat-launch ramps and three 6’ wide by 50’ long finger piers. In order to the complete this work, contractors removed the old ramp and piers, dredged, diked and poured a new concrete ramp and constructing new piers. The decking on the new piers is grid walk mini mesh which will allow flood waters to pass through the decking without damaging the piers.

Completion of this project improves the public’s ability to access and utilize park waters, reduces health and safety issues, and protects natural resources. This project was funded by park entrance and facility-use fees.
