Golden Gate National Recreation Area is special to many people in many different ways. The park's natural resources and cultural history are truly exceptional and with over 80,000 acres, spanning Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties, it represents a highly diverse complex of environments and park sites.
