Yosemite Apple Camp

About Apple Camp

It is little known that over 130 National Park units contain orchards that were planted over 50 years ago, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Places. Yosemite National Park, in particular, contains seven historic orchards dating from as far back as the 1860s—prior to its establishment as a park. Join orchard enthusiasts and apple experts for a weekend spent exploring Yosemite National Park’s historic orchards and learning about heritage orchard preservation. Talks, workshops, demonstrations, work parties, and tours will delve into the history of the orchards, the unique heirloom apple varieties, the complex issues of natural and cultural resource management in national parks, and the stewardship required to preserve historic trees. Heritage apple experts from across the country and Yosemite park staff will share their knowledge and guide participants through several exciting events at Yosemite. Join for the whole weekend by camping in the park at a reserved campground. Yosemite Apple Camp is open to all orchard enthusiasts—register now. Limited spaces available.
