Since 2016, Steve has been a beloved part of our team, making the trip to our park several times a week simply because he loves the work of interpretation so much.

On top of staffing our Visitor Centers, Steve has taken on two incredible projects. Since 2022, he's worked closely with Ranger Ryan Quint on transcribing historical letters for our permanent records—over 15 letters so far! He also works alongside Ranger Pete Maugle researching the identities of soldiers buried in the National Cemetery, a project he's been devoted to since 2018. Ranger Pete was so grateful for Steve's contributions that he nominated him for a National Volunteer award, which he won! Steve received the George and Helen Hartzog Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in the NPS Northeast Region in 2019.

Thank you, Steve, for everything you do, and for bringing history to life. Your dedication is invaluable to our park and to all who visit!
