Veteran Story: William Ethridge
William Ethridge enlisted in the U.S. Army on October of 1974 and served through November of 1995. He has 21 and a half years of reserve and active service as a Chief Warrant Two.
While enlisted he was assigned to South Korea for 3 years and Germany for 18 months. He received the Meritorious Service Medal, 1st Oak Leaf Cluster and the Army Commendation Medal, 6th Oak Leaf Cluster as his highest awards.
He retired from Fort Meade, Maryland in 1995.
Bill’s career in the National Park Service provided him with “another opportunity to wear the nation’s uniform, which [he] is proud to wear.”
Bill currently works at George Washington Birthplace National Monument in Colonial Beach, Virginia as an Interpretive Park Guide.
