Award Amount: $386,525

The City of Mobile transformed Three Mile Creek from a degraded urban stormwater conveyance into a community asset that connects diverse neighborhoods and provides new recreation opportunities. The grant supported the initial construction of a greenway system in a low-income, minority area with limited recreation resources. The portion of the trail segment completed include a fitness circuit/parcourse, lighting, benches, and more. Learn more about the project on the City of Mobile's website, Map for Mobile.

The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program competitively awards funds to economically disadvantaged urban communities to help increase access to outdoor recreation and public parks. Funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), State Lead Agencies apply for matching grants to acquire and/or develop public land for all manner of outdoor recreation activities.
