Science Summer Camp 2024

Parents and students looking for a fun way to avoid the dreaded summer brain drain can take a trip out to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area to enjoy educational activities with rangers.


Science Summer Camp is a free, family-friendly event that offers a variety of science activities exploring the resources within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The program meets Next Generation Science Standards for grades 3 through 5 and provides hands-on lessons to make learning fun and engaging for the whole family.

Over six consecutive Fridays, beginning June 28th, participants will travel to different areas of the park and explore lesson themes such as botany, geology, and wildlife biology. Science Summer Camp is open to all ages and encourages families to learn and explore together!

1. Dingmans Falls Visitor Center

How do you feel about after-school snacks? Aren't they fun? They give you energy to play and do homework! How do you think animals get energy to play? Learn about ecology and the food web of native animals in a beautiful environment.

4. Hialeah Recreation Site

5. Walpack Center

* Expanded amenity fees are waived for visitors attending the program. Let the ranger at the entrance booth know you are attending Science Summer Camp.
