Satellite Mode

As cell providers extend connectivity to satellite networks, a low-data satellite mode in the National Park Service Mobile App (NPS App) is now optimized for these connections. Cell-to satellite connections may limit which apps, features, and websites users can access to conserve bandwidth, but allow users to access important features in remote areas.

NPS App users can enjoy maps, safety alerts in the low-data version without downloading individual park units. Satellite connectivity can help close this gap for users who arrive without fully downloaded content.
