Throughout the year, staff sought new ways to engage visitors on their way to the riverfront. New fixtures now showcase period clothing from the expedition, giving visitors the chance to dress as members of the Corps of Discovery. Updated information guides provide deeper insight into how these items were used and worn.

The visitor center also welcomed three Park Guide Student Trainees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha during the summer and fall. They assisted with programming and supported trail and national parks trip planning.

Programming this year built on existing offerings with a stronger focus on outreach. Highlights included expanding the guided walking tour, creating a more detailed garden guide, and enhancing native games and activities. Several scout groups and classrooms visited the headquarters—or hosted staff at their own sites—to learn about the tools used by the Corps of Discovery.

Staff also participated in community events alongside riverfront partners. These included The RiverFront Earth Day, a festive Easter egg hunt, and hosting a booth at the Omaha Marathon, which followed a route along the Missouri River.
