Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park staff and exhibit design professionals worked diligently for more than two years to create new displays and interactive experiences for the LBJ Ranch Visitor Center located in the historic Hangar building. We are excited to share that exhibit designs are complete and ready for next steps on the way to fabrication and installation!
When the Texas White House complex reopens, the Visitor Center will hold stories of Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson’s formative years, their enduring marriage and political partnership, and time spent working and relaxing at the ranch during the Johnson presidency. With the new exhibits visitors will be introduced to Johnson’s values and political views, become acquainted with the work of the presidency, and feel the impact of this place on the Johnson family and American culture during a time of national restlessness, 1963–73.
This is one of many behind-the-scenes projects that are supporting the preservation and renovation of the Texas White House complex.
