My Valley Forge Story: Wally Strong
I attended the national Boy Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge in 1964. We had three troops attending from Lansing, Michigan. We arrived in a rather unusual manner: in a fleet of 28 white Oldsmobiles with the jamboree emblem on the side. There were three or four scouts in each car, plus an adult driver. The cars were provided by Oldsmobile, which was then headquartered in Lansing.
Before arriving in Valley Forge, our caravan made visits to Niagara Falls, the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, and the World's Fair in New York.
