Award Amount: $475,000

Metroparks of Toledo created access to the 73-acre Manhattan Marsh, a large urban natural area. This project also resulted in the development of boardwalks and walking paths as well as a canoe/kayak launch and related facilities. The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program competitively awards funds to economically disadvantaged urban communities to help increase access to outdoor recreation and public parks. Funded through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), State Lead Agencies apply for matching grants to acquire and/or develop public land for all manner of outdoor recreation activities.
