Jack Hadley Black History Museum (Thomasville, Georgia)

African American Civil Rights Network

The Jack Hadley Black History Museum, located in Thomasville, Georgia, was founded in 1995, to educate visitors to Thomasville about the history and culture of the African American community locally as well as nationally. The museum was founded by African American historian James “Jack” Hadley and has over 4,000 pieces of African American artifacts. The empahsis of the collection and the museum is on commemorating the lives and accomplishments of local, state, and national achievers within the African American community.

The Jack Hadley Black History Museum became part of the African American Civil Rights Network in 2023.

The African American Civil Rights Network recognizes the African American Civil Rights Movement in the United States and the sacrifices made by those who fought against discrimination and segregation. Created by the African American Civil Rights Act of 2017, and coordinated by the National Park Service, the Network tells the stories of the people, places, and events of the U.S. African American Civil Rights Movement through a collection of public and private resources to include properties, facilities, and programs.
