Hello! Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park and Visitor Center is taking over the Network today! Meet our Team! We are located in historic Church Creek, Maryland in Dorchester County or as we call it, Tubman Country. The Choptank River Region is where Harriet Tubman was born and spent her youth enslaved. Maryland State Parks Feed Post: Green Features

Harriet Tubman toiled in the landscape of Maryland's Eastern Shore starting at the young age of 6 until she journeyed to freedom at 27. Her immense knowledge of this landscape and the ways of the marsh contributed to her success. Our visitor center is surrounded by Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge where the land has been mostly undeveloped since Tubman's time. The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park has made it our duty to treat this land with the utmost respect so that if Tubman were to ever return, she would know her way.

We are a LEED Silver certified facility and have many state-of-the-art green features that help protect our environment. Our features include vegetative roofs, solar panel lights, permeable parking lots, rain barrels, pollinator gardens, retention ponds, and so much more.
