Meet Alix Pfennigwerth, a Biological Science Technician at Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

Alix grew to love the outdoors as a young girl while hiking with her family in the Appalachian Mountains. Alix was further inspired by Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring and pursued both an undergraduate and master’s degree in ecology that led her to her work at the park.
