Main Text
Text at the bottom right of the poster reads: “Fallout - In the video game series, Fallout, players must survive a nuclear wasteland after a war in the 23rd century. Fallout acts as a satire on the hubris of mid-20th century American society that thought itself unstoppable. It uses dark humor to explore the consequences of using all-powerful weapons and the ‘what ifs’ of a world destroyed by the nuclear technology it relied on. First released in 1997, Fallout has entertained a generation of gamers and continues to do so with its most recent 2018 release.”

Text in a small, inset gray circle at the left reads: “Nuka-cola, mutated monsters, and a desolate wasteland are familiar images to those who play Fallout.”

Exhibit Panel Description
A color poster, entitled “Video Games,” shows a post-apocalyptic landscape with a tangled metal debris, bombed out buildings, and broken bridges. A billboard at the left shows a sexy woman holding a bottle of soda while leaning on a life-size bottle of “Nuka-Cola.”
