Experience and Expectations
Per its name, the Around the Mountain Loop goes around several of Acadia's mountains, and as such has some significant inclines and declines. The high point of the loop is on its northwestern side, partway along the road between the Chasm Brook Bridge and the Hemlock Bridge. Getting there from either direction involves a steep incline, then a steep decline. The lower end of the loop also has numerous uphill and downhill sections.
On a manual bike, this loop is estimated to take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.
