African American Civil Rights Network
The African American Resources Cultural and Heritage Society, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in 2009, celebrates the rich contributions and history of African Americans in the city and county of Frederick, Maryland.
The AARCH Society preserves objects, artifacts and stories about the history, heritage, and culture of African Americans int its local communities. Through its programs, services, and the African American Heritage Center in downtown Frederick, the AARCH Society works to educate visitors about local African American life both past and present.
The African American Resources Cultural and Heritage Society-AARCH Society became part of the African American Civil Rights Network in 2023.
The African American Civil Rights Network recognizes the African American Civil Rights Movement in the United States and the sacrifices made by those who fought against discrimination and segregation. Created by the African American Civil Rights Act of 2017, and coordinated by the National Park Service, the Network tells the stories of the people, places, and events of the U.S. African American Civil Rights Movement through a collection of public and private resources to include properties, facilities, and programs.
