Volunteers-in-Parks

Volunteering is an American tradition that has made an immeasurable contribution to communities, organizations, and individuals throughout the country. Whether you have a day or an entire season, opportunities exist for volunteers at the African Burial Ground National Monument.

There are numerous ways to participate in the programs, events, and daily life of the park through the National Park Service VIP (Volunteers-in-Parks) Program. Each year, volunteers contribute to more than 2,000 hours at the African Burial Ground National Monument. Retired couples, school groups, and individuals-people just like you donate their time and efforts to provide essential services at the African Burial Ground National Monument.

Become a volunteer at the African Burial Ground National Monument and help share its many stories with park visitors. For more information about becoming a volunteer contact the site at (212) 238-4367. There are a variety of volunteer duties you can do at the African Burial Ground National Monument.
