On Saturday, May 25, visitor facilities at both the Shiloh Battlefield and the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center will be open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm daily. The grounds at Shiloh and all the park’s holdings in Corinth will remain open from dawn until dusk as always.

“To meet operational needs, Shiloh National Military Park will be opening at 9:00 am instead of 8:00 am. This operational change will have a positive impact on visitor services at both facilities,” said Superintendent Catherine Bragaw. “The change will allow staff to be fully prepared and ready to provide top-notch service and programming for our guests each day” she continued.

Prior to 9:00 am each day the resources available to visitors include the grounds at Shiloh, and the Siege and Battle of Corinth sites, the Shiloh National Cemetery, the Shiloh battlefield auto- tour route with maps available in the parking lot kiosk, the Shiloh Indian Mounds, Shiloh National Cemetery, and restroom facilities. The America’s National Parks Store at Shiloh will be open from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm daily during the summer season.

Park staff also recommends that visitors download the official NPS App on their smart devices which includes the audio driving tour of Shiloh Battlefield. The companion audio auto-driving tour of the Siege and Battle of Corinth is scheduled to go live this summer and will also be available on the NPS App. The NPS App is free and available through Google Play and the App Store.

During regular hours of operation from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, visitors to Shiloh can view the award-winning park film “Shiloh: Fiery Trial” which starts on the hour and view the museum exhibits and artifacts. At the Corinth Visitor Center, visitors can view three films and museum exhibits related to the Civil War in Corinth area.

Shiloh National Military Park welcomes nearly 400,000 visitors a year. The park consists of two main units, the Shiloh Battlefield, and the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center. The park also administers the Davis Bridge Battlefield, near Pocahontas, Tennessee, the Corinth Contraband Camp, multiple properties in the Corinth area, the Fallen Timbers site, and an affiliated site at Parker’s Crossroads.

The Battle of Shiloh was the first major battle in the western theater of the Civil War and at the time, the largest land battle to have occurred in the Western Hemisphere. The legislation creating Shiloh National Military Park was signed into law on December 27, 1894, by President Grover Cleveland. The current annual economic benefit to the community is $30.5 million and supports 358 local jobs.
