  • Headquarter's Visitor Center Switching to Winter Hours on Sept. 20th

    Wrangell-St Elias's main visitor center, located near Copper Center, AK, will be switching to winter hours starting September 20th. The new hours of operation are Mon.-Fri. 9:00 am-4:00 pm and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Outfitters & Guide Services

There are many LOCAL outfitters and guide services located within Wrangell-St. Elias NP/P and surrounding communities. These businesses provide regularly scheduled services throughout the visitor season.

There are many other outfitters that provide services in the park, but may be based out of other locations within Alaska or the Lower 48. This is a complete listing of ALL permitted commercial operators for Wrangell-St. Elias.

Mount Churchill, a 15,638’ volcanic peak in the St. Elias mountain range, was named by the Alaska State Legislature in 1965 shortly following the death of English statesman Sir Winston Churchill.
