The Whitman Mission Visitor Center includes a small museum, book store, and auditorium. It is open daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
 

VISITOR CENTER HOURS

The Visitor Center is open everyday, 7 days a week, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Normal Building Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Extended Summer Hours: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
(mid-June through the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend)

Great Basin Wild Rye Grass is part of the natural landscape at Whitman Mission. The name Waiilatpu, meaning place of rye grass, was used by the people to name the mission site.
