Climate Change

The relationship beween climate and humans is complex. At Weir Farm, climate is responsible for changing seasons, plant and animal patterns, and how people throughout history and today have lived and thrived here. Now, however, the climate is changing in rapid and unpredictable ways. As a caretaker for natural and historical resources alike, Weir Farm is working to understand, mitigate, and adapt to this pressing challenge.

Climate change is all around us. While you may not see receeding glaciers or rising sea levels at Weir Farm, a changing climate has significant implications on our temperate forests, our historic buildings and collections, and even people's health and wellbeing.

Explore the links below to learn how Weir Farm, the Northeast region, and the whole National Park Service are addressing climate change.
