  • Fire Restrictions in Effect

    Fire restrictions are now in effect, including restrictions on smoking - smoking is only allowed within vehicles. The 2014 fire restrictions for Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle are consistent with Arizona State Forestry Division restrictions. More »

Operating Hours & Seasons

Tuzigoot National Monument

Open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM; to get enough time to see the entire site, please be in the monument by 4PM. The park is closed on Christmas Day.

Exhibits
Our museum was renovated and reopened in June of 2011. Exhibits depict the life style of the Sinaguan Indians, and include interactive computer programs in addition to artifacts.

Did You Know?

Prickly pear

Both the fruits and pads of the prickly pear cactus can be eaten! Today you can buy them at some grocery stores, but the javelina who roam around Tuzigoot National Monument like to eat them right off the plant.
