Please be aware that federal job titles often differ from the same jobs performed in other sectors. Take the time to use keyword searches or see what jobs might be listed under different titles.
For example:

• Water and Wastewater Operators are listed as Utility Systems Operators.

 

Basic Application Tips

Here are just a few tips for submitting your job application in USAJOBS.

• Follow all the "How to Apply" instructions listed under each opportunity.
• Review the "How to create an application" steps on USAJOBS.
• Applying for a maintenance job? Be sure to include the required driver's license materials and document your driving experience.
• Apply as soon as possible. Many opportunities close after a certain number of applications are received.
• When creating your resumé, by sure to include experience that is relevant to the job opportunity and highlights all of the job requirements. This often means your resumé will be multiple pages long.

The National Park Service (NPS) offers beautiful and challenging environments with summer and winter internship programs intended to provide working experience to augment your degree program. Natural and cultural resource management, park ranger, and facility management internships are available with the NPS at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Empire, Michigan.
