Welcome to Salem Maritime National Historic Site! The staff are committed to ensuring your safety while visiting the park.

Tips for Visiting Safely and Protecting the Park:

• Always use the crosswalks and look both ways before crossing the street.
• Swimming is not permitted at Derby Wharf Beach due to broken glass, sharp metal and bricks that sometime washes ashore.
• While walking out to the Derby Light Station, please be aware of the rocky surface of the wharf.
• Dogs must remain on a leash that is held by a human. Please clean up after your dog and do not let them into the Colonial Revival Garden beds.
• For the health and safety of all, please Recreate Responsibly.
• Pack out your trash.

 

COVID-19:

• Masks are optional in all park facilities, however visitors and employees are always welcome to wear a mask if it makes them more comfortable.
