San Juan, PR. – On Saturday, September 27, 2014, San Juan National Historic Site will be celebrating National Public Lands Day (NPLD) with free admission. “During previous National Public Lands Day volunteers throughout the United States have built trails, planted trees and plants, removed trash and invasive plants, as well as contribute to many other projects” commented Superintendent Walter J. Chavez.

San Juan National Historic Site Celebrates 10th Annual Artisan Fair
Superintendent Walter J. Chavez announces the 10th Annual Artisan Fair en El Morro will be held this weekend July 19-20. The annual Artisan Fair is held at Castillo San Felipe del Morro from 9:00-6:00 each day.

Improvement To Visitor Center Parking Facilities At Castillo San Cristobal
San Juan, PR – Construction and improvements to the Visitor Center parking lot will begin on June 2, 2014. For the next 3 weeks the Visitor parking lot at Castillo San Cristobal located on Avenida Muñoz Rivera will be closed. Access will be limited to pedestrians and official vehicles only. Tour busses will drop off their clients at the entrance to the parking lot and will need to relocate until it is time to pick up their guests.

San Juan, PR – Superintendent Walter J. Chavez announces a fee change for San Juan National Historic Site. The fee change will go into effect on May 1, 2014.

Celebrate National Park Week with Free Admission and Special Events
Go Wild for San Juan National Historic Site! San Juan, PR – Go wild for history at San Juan National Historic Site during National Park Week, April 19 through 27, 2014. To get the celebration going, entrance to Castillos San Felipe del Morro and San Cristobal will be free on April 19 and 20.

Superintendent Walter J. Chavez invites you to an “Open House” where we will introduce San Juan National Historic Site’s new Fee change proposal. We are encouraging you to participate and provide us with your comments regarding this proposal. Event will take place at Castillo San Cristóbal A/V Room the evenings of November 13th and November 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We would appreciate if you can confirm your participation to Jessica_Oppenheimer@nps.gov.

Superintendent Walter J. Chavez announced today that Castillo San Cristobal will stay open until 7:00pm every Friday effective July 5th, 2013.
