Friends of the San Francisco Maritime Museum Library

Join the Friends of the San Francisco Maritime Museum Library and help support the J. Porter Shaw Library at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.

The Friends welcome members who are interested in maritime books, photos, oral histories and maritime lore. Membership includes reduced admission to Friends’ events, free admission to Hyde Street Pier, and discounts on book, photo, and vessel plan purchases at the library and the Hyde Street Pier Store.

The GRACE QUAN is a replica of the type of fishing vessel used throughout the Bay Area by Chinese shrimp fishing companies between 1860 and 1910. She was built by San Francisco Maritime and California State park staff and volunteers in 2003.
