Rocky: An Outdoor Playground Rocky Mountian National Park is a great place for kids and families. From easy trails to climb, to great wildlife viewing, the park truly is a outdoor playground. We also offer many FREE Ranger-led programs that are geared for kids. Consult Rocky Mountain National Park's official newspaper for details and times of ranger programs. On rainy days, stop by the Fall River Visitor Center's "Discovery Room", where childen touch animal skins, try on Ranger uniforms, and learn about the different wildlife that call the park home.

Stop at one of our visitor centers or Junior Ranger Headquarters to pick up a free Junior Ranger activities booklet. There are age-specific booklets that are available for kids 5 and under, 6-8, and 9 and up. Completing your booklet and sharing your answers with a park ranger will earn you an official Rocky Mountain National Park Junior Ranger badge. You can also become a Web Ranger and earn a certificate by completing activities online. This is a National Park Service site full of educational activities for kids of all ages.
