New Hampshire: Promoting Major Historic Sites

The Frankiln Pierce Homestead, boyhood home of the 14th President, was built in 1804.

New Hampshire

New Hampshire has been home to many leading figures in American history. However, the state recognized a need to reverse declining visitation and revenue. A Preserve America grant project helped the state improve the way they promoted and interpreted historic sites to draw more visitors. Sites such as the Franklin Pierce Homestead, Robert Frost Farm, Wentworth–Coolidge Mansion, John Wingate Weeks Estate, and the Daniel Webster Birthplace all benefited from this program. Local communities and the state as a whole grew from the jobs that this statewide program helped develop.
