Clear Creek County, Colorado
Clear Creek Greenway is a trail for human-powered use that is planned to stretch from the Continental Divide at Loveland Pass to the South Platte River in Denver. The NPS Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program provided the plan for the greenway as well as detailed trail alignments. Clear Creek County turned the plan into a reality by raising $1.3 million from public and private donors, including a grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Along the greenway, the county plans to build a whitewater park with an access point for paddlers and outfitters, a kayak play area, and other new trails.
