Delaware River Water Trail

Boat ferry demonstration on the Delaware River Water Trail

Bucks, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, and Wayne Counties

A National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance project made the 220-mile-long Delaware Water Trail easier to use with a simple addition: road, or rather, river signs. Paddlers on the trail, which passes through New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, will no longer have to stop to check their maps every time they come to a fork. RTCA worked with partners to develop a complete sign program and provided a $26,270 Challenge Cost Share grant to fund the project. The new signs make the river trail safer and more enjoyable. RTCA is also contributing to additional safety programs and a new interactive trip planning website for the trail.
