Federal Historic Preservation Rehabilitation Tax Credits and the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Low Income Housing Tax Credits enabled a $7,701,175 rehabilitation of the Linograph Company Building in Davenport, Iowa. Built in 1919 and expanded in 1949, the factory housed the manufacturing of Hans Peterson’s Linograph typesetting machines. The current owners have transformed the building into the Riverwalk Lofts apartments, and have repaired the exterior masonry and replaced windows based on historical photographs. The industrial character inside is preserved by exposed concrete ceilings, structural columns, and new mechanical equipment.
