Exhibits
Exhibits are available in visitor center. Wayside exhibits can be found along the interpretive trail.
Interpretive Programs
- Exploring Significant Cultural Resources at Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site
- Orientation and Hike - One hour and fifteen minutes
- Ancient Hawaiian Games - Two hours
- Na La'au o Hawaii (Plants of Hawaii)- forty-five minutes.
Guided Tour
Pre-arranged, non-educational guided tours are available for groups of 10 or more.
Junior Ranger Program
Junior Rangers are special people who want to learn about national parks and how to help protect them for future generations. To discover more about one of our nation's treasures and what you can do to preserve the park, become a Junior Ranger and earn a badge and certificate. Complete one or more of the five activities in Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site's Junior Ranger booklet, present them to the Park Ranger at the visitor center to receive your Junior Ranger Badge and a signed Certificate.

- Cultural Demonstration on Hawaiian Crafts - every Thursday, January through September
- Hawaiian Flag Day - July 31
- Establishment Day Hawaiian Cultural Festival - every August, weekend closest to the 17th
Safety
For your safety stay on the trails and do not climb on archaeological structures. The trail from the visitor center is long, hot and rugged. If you are not physically fit and dressed properly, do not attempt the hike.

Did You Know?
Heiau are temples of which there are two major orders: the agricultural and economy-related ones and the large sacrificial war temples. Human lives were taken on the war heiau. Pu’ukohola Heiau is one such temple.
