Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site is open daily year-round 7:45am-4:45pm (including all Federal Holidays).

The Park entrance gate closes by 4:00pm daily and all vehicles need to be out of the parking lot by 5:00pm.

Black tip reef shark just offshore

The best time to see the black tipped reef sharks at Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site is usually just after sunrise. On good days, you may see close to 20 sharks swimming in area just a couple hundred feet from the shore!
