Bottles collected during Crissy Field restoration. Parks collections also include archaeological materials.

Today, many relicts of the Presidio's past are preserved in outdoor, indoor and online collections at the park. Above are links to information about several of our outdoor collections that you can visit, as well as a link to some online history documents. The Park Archives and Records Center also houses two-dimensional objects, and you can look at online finding aids here. Questions regarding these collections can be directed by phone to 415-561-2807.

Fort Point, once called

Did You Know?
In 1882, the fort now known as Fort Point was given the name "Fort Winfield Scott", a name it retained for four years before being downgraded to a sub-post of the Presidio. In 1912, the name was reused for the new coast artillery post at the Presidio, today's Fort Scott.
