Coastal Dune Restoration at Point Reyes National Seashore
Point Reyes National Seashore has completed planning to continue coastal dune restoration to restore up to 600 acres of native dune habitat, a critical link in the park's efforts to strengthen threatened and endangered populations of coastal plant and bird species. The National Park Service has signed a Finding of No Significant Impact for the Coastal Dune Restoration Environmental Assessment to improve and restore coastal dune habitat of critical ecological importance.

Temporary Beach Closure for the Threatened Snowy Plover at Point Reyes National Seashore During July 4 Weekend
A temporary closure of the beach area between the North Beach parking lot and the mouth of Abbotts Lagoon is in effect for the Fourth of July weekend to better ensure the survival of federally-threatened western snowy plover nests and chicks within this area during the busy holiday weekend.

Tourism to Point Reyes National Seashore Creates $102 Million in Economic Benefits in 2014
A new National Park Service report shows that the 2.43 million visitors to Point Reyes National Seashore in 2014 spent more than $102 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 1,322 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy in excess of $128 million.

On Saturday, March 21, a portion of the land at the Arch Rock overlook at Point Reyes National Seashore collapsed into the waters 70 feet below. The Arch Rock trail has been closed until further notice.

Nationally-touring Art Quilt Exhibit at Point Reyes National Seashore

Goat Grazing Experiment to Reduce Invasive Vegetation

National Park Service is Seeking Comments for an Environmental Assessment for the Proposed Coastal Dune Restoration Project
Point Reyes National Seashore has released for public review the Coastal Dune Restoration Environmental Assessment (EA) to improve and restore coastal dune habitat of critical ecological importance in the park. As part of this planning process, we welcome your comments on the EA. The end of the comment period is Friday, February 9, 2015.
