Body of Missing Hiker Found North of Kehoe Beach on January 3, 2016
National Park Rangers at Point Reyes National Seashore initiated a missing person search on January 2, 2016. The body of John Son of San Jose was discovered around 11 am on January 3 north of Kehoe Beach.

Point Reyes National Seashore Announces Public Scoping for the Preparation of an Environmental Assessment for the Lagunitas Creek Winter Habitat and Floodplain Enhancement Project
The National Park Service is beginning the preparation of an Environmental Assessment for Phase I of a Winter Habitat and Floodplain Enhancement Project on Lagunitas Creek. The project is proposed by the Marin Municipal Water District as part of the district's efforts to improve habitat for coho salmon and steelhead. A four-week comment period will close at the end of the business day on Monday, January 11, 2016.

High Surf Warning for Point Reyes National Seashore in effect until 4 am on Tuesday, December 8, 2015
The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for the Coastal North Bay, including Point Reyes National Seashore. Dangerous, battering waves will pound the shoreline, resulting in sneaker waves and deadly rip currents.

Prescribed Burns for Point Reyes National Seashore Begin on October 14, 2015
The Fire Management staff at Point Reyes National Seashore is planning several controlled burns to help improve habitat and protect the area from wildfire. Over the next two weeks, beginning on Wednesday, October 14, three areas within the park will be treated with prescribed fire.

Point Reyes National Seashore Welcomes 4th Grade Students through Every Kid In a Park Initiative
Point Reyes National Seashore invites all 4th grade students and their families to visit the park as part of the White House’s new Every Kid in a Park program. Starting September 2, 4th grade students can now go to www.everykidinapark.gov to complete an activity and obtain a free annual entry pass to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national parks.
