Squirrel Tail
Squirreltail is a perennial bunchgrass 4 to 25 inches tall. It grows in the spring. The grass is green with green to purplish seed clusters drying to yellow by early summer. The grass can be found in elevations between 2000 to 11,500 feet.

James Whitmore, and the Pipe Spring Longhorns of today, Whit and Tess

James Whitmore brought 400 longhorns with him from Texas to Utah in the 1850s. On April 13, 1863, Whitmore received a land certificate for a 160-acre tract, which included Pipe Spring.
