Petrified Forest National Park
Ruane Miller

Ruane Miller is a painter/digital artist and art professor at the College of New Jersey. She has explored and studied the landscape, the flora, and the culture of the Southwest over the past fifteen years. This "research" has formed the basis of her artwork and has indeed enhanced her understanding of the impact of environment on our sensibilities.

The imagery of her artwork is an intuitive interpretation of this exploration and experience. She persued this artistic integration in the development of new imagery directly inspired by the unparalleled exposure to the unique environment of the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest offered through the Artist-in-Residence Program.
