Increase in Visitation for March 2007 at Petrified Forest National Park

Petrified Forest, AZ – Park Superintendent Lee Baiza announced that visitation for March increased by 31% from last year with 52,149 visits compared to last year’s 39,835. The year to date total is 92,085 which is up by 3%.

Weather on the Colorado Plateau can be very unpredictable especially in the spring. This March saw a warming trend with temperatures in the 70s throughout the region and the nicer weather helped to increase visitation.
