Decrease in Visitation for January 2007 at Petrified Forest National Park

Petrified Forest, AZ – Park Superintendent Lee Baiza announced that visitation decreased by 22% this January from last year with 18,816  visits compared to last year’s 23,991.

The Rainbow Forest Museum is in the process of getting a facelift and new exhibits. Already in place are new in-depth displays that explain the differences between dinosaurs and other creatures of the Triassic Period as well as the bones and illustrations of lesser known reptiles and amphibians. These displays are the result of on-going paleontological research in the park.
