The National Park Service is pleased to announce a new 4,000-acre National Park Service site to be known as Oregon Caves National Preserve. The site was established through the National Defense Authorization Act that was passed by Congress this week and signed by the President on December 19, 2014. The new park, created through the transfer of National Forest lands, is contiguous with the existing Oregon Caves National Monument. The two units will be administered as a single area.
