Obed Annual River Clean-Up
Volunteers assist during the 2011 river clean-up. You can be one, too.
The Annual Obed National River Cleanup Day was held on Saturday, May 19, 2012. A total of 24 volunteers came to the park and helped park personnel clean up several sections of the Obed River and its tributaries. Volunteers returned to the park visitor center in the afternoon to enjoy a pulled-pork barbeque lunch, complete with lemonade and delicious oatmeal raisin cookies! Volunteers were also awarded certificates and gifts for their efforts. The National River Cleanup Day is an annual event at the park. To volunteer for next year's event, please contact Obed Volunteer Coordinator Moria Painter at 423-346-6294. |
