    Moores Creek National Battlefield National Park Week - Talks and tours throughout the week examine the cultural and natural heritage preserved onsite; 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily. Learn about the revolutionary war in North Carolina or the long leaf pine ecosystems of pre-colonial life; free. April 18-26
      Junior Ranger Day - All day event includes Living History demonstrations and hands on science programs; free:
    - Colonial Trades and Crafts include blacksmithing, colonial toy making, spinning, candle making and colonial punishments demonstrated with stocks and pillars. Live musket firings at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.; Kid’s militia drill at 11:30 a.m.
    - Science programs explore vital ecosystems with a river analysis and macro invertebrate sampling at 10 a.m., tree identification and core samplings at 1 p.m., and learn the traditions of timber workers using the “Biltmore Stick.”

    Cuyahoga Valley National Park Junior Ranger Take a Closer Look - Glimpse creepy crawlies using special tools. Experience the natural world from a bug’s-eye view while learning what small creatures live in CVNP. Ages 7-12; 2 p.m.-4 p.m. $8 per child, $5 for CVNPA members.       Junior Ranger Day - Free programs, child-friendly activities and games; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Happy Days Lodge in Peninsula. Enjoy cake, ice cream and photo opportunities at the 12:30 p.m. swearing-in ceremony. Prizes awarded for most badges and patches, youngest and oldest Junior Rangers. Programs include:

      Share Your Memories - In preparation for its new documentary about the park, Western Reserve PBS invites people to share memories of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The station will record oral histories from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the park’s Happy Days Lodge. April 26
      International Migratory Bird Day - Welcome feathered summer residents back with a ranger; binoculars provided. Ages 7-12; 9:30-11:30 a.m. $8 per child, $5 for CVNPA members. A parent or guardian must attend; no charge for adults. Registration required: 800-642-3297 ext. 100. May 9

See a traditional Lakota hoop dance, hear the National Anthem played on chimes, attend the Multicultural Expo and join the program, "We The People."
