There are a number of local museums where you can learn the fascinating history of the river and sandhills region.  Valentine is home to the Cherry County Historical Society Museum and Centennial Hall, the town's original high school built in 1897 and now housing twelve rooms of exhibits. Go to the Valentine Chamber of Commerce for more information.

The Keya Paha County Historical society is located in Springview; visit the Springview community website for more information.
