The park workforce consists of about 95 permanent and 35 seasonal employees. Necessary qualifications and wages vary with the type of position and skill required. Permanent employment with the National Park Service requires specific education or work experience. Occasionally, opportunities for the Student Career Experiences Program (SCEP) are advertised. SCEP provides relevant work experience for degree-seeking or vocational students. SCEP offers the possibility of gaining permanent employment upon graduation.
