National Park Service

Join Ruth and Abby, the national park's 1850s ladies on Thursday, November 13 at 6:00 PM.With assistance from the Junior Ranger Service Corps, they have been watching the preparation of the "Stone Fleet." Watch out, Mr. Lee, the whalers are coming! The fleet will leave promptly at 6:30 PM. Be there to cheer them on. Exploring the story of the "Stone Fleet" expands the New B Under the Sea project which invites everyone to join in with the park and partners to discover the fate of New Bedford's whaleships. Follow along and view the "Stone Fleet" as it lies underwater today at www.newbunderthesea.com courtesy of Maritime Research Division, South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, University of South Carolina Columbia. The event takes place at New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park's visitor center, 33 William Street, downtown New Bedford. As always, the event is open to all, and admission is free.
